Flash Collective Founder Veronica Ceci garnered the second place prize in the Printmaking category at the annual Arts in Harmony Exhibition at the Sherburne County Government Center in Elk River, Minnesota. Her monotype from 2011, Flat City III, entranced the judges with its soft colors and subtle blendroll, but was not quite as awesome as Paula Benfer's Sonnemaker Kachinas which won first place. The prize included a cash award, with which Ceci paid for the return shipping of her piece, and a lovely medallion. The artist is especially pleased to be honored in this way, for as we all know, if you can make it in Elk River, you can make it anywhere.
